Level Select

To unlock the Level Select menu in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles:

  1. As soon as the game starts and you're in Angel Island Zone (the first level), find one of the swinging ropes and hang from it.
  2. While hanging, press the following button sequence:

  4. Pause the game and press K to return to the title screen.
  5. On the title screen, scroll down to find a new option called Sound Test under Competition.

To enable Debug Mode in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles, follow these steps after unlocking the Level Select:

  1. From the Sound Test menu, go to Mushroom Hill Zone.
  2. Find one of the pulling machines (the handles that lift Sonic up) and hang from it.
  3. While hanging, press this button sequence:
